The Everett Public Facilities District and Spectra by Comcast Spectacor welcomed 61,700 guests to the Arena throughout the month of November, with seven Everett Silvertips hockey games, four days of Disney On Ice presents Follow Your Heart, and 6,000+ in attendance at Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith’s Christmas Tour concert.
A pair of Everett Silvertips hockey games led off the month, with a Tips win over Prince George on November 3, followed by the team’s signature fundraising game, Pink The Rink, that Saturday. This year’s event helped raise $67,921 for Providence Regional Medical Center towards their breast cancer prevention and treatment efforts. The Silvertips are riding a three game winning streak heading into this weekend’s games, which includes the Teddy Bear Toss night on Saturday, December 2 at 7:05 PM. All bears collected at the game will be donated to Christmas House and the WARM 106.9 Teddy Bear Patrol.
Disney On Ice presents Follow Your Heart opened in Everett on November 9, with seven performances over four event days, drawing more than 30,000 guests in total attendance. Feld Entertainment, a worldwide leader in live family entertainment, produces Disney On Ice, and has continued to make Everett an annual stop on every tour since the venue first opened in 2003.
GRAMMY® winners Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith brought their popular Christmas Tour to town on November 18, along with special guest Jordan Smith, winner of NBC’s “The Voice,” and accompanied by a full symphony orchestra. A near sold-out crowd of 6,354 kicked-off the holiday season in-style with an unforgettable night of Christmas music.
“The support from the community for our hometown Everett Silvertips and the wide range of events presented at the Arena continues to be outstanding,” said Rick Comeau, Angel Of The Winds Arena general manager. “We look forward to carrying that momentum into the new year, with a handful of exciting show announcements on the horizon.”
The Edward D. Hansen Conference Center also stayed busy with over fifteen events for the month, including the American Cancer Society’s banquet fundraiser with more than 400 in attendance. The Mount Rainier Chapter of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers also held their vendor show in the conference center on November 15. Big Top Promotions wrapped up the month with their two-day tradeshow, utilizing the entire grand ballroom.
The Community Ice Rink has been developing figure skaters, hockey players and skaters of all disciplines for almost fifteen years. Five skaters from the Everett Figure Skating qualified for the NW Pacific Regionals in Oregon. Over 120 Girl Scouts attended the exclusive Scout Skate Night on November 11, many of whom were trying out ice skating for their very first time.
Other upcoming events at Angel Of The Winds Arena include more Everett Silvertips hockey, Harlem Globetrotters on December 28, Xtreme International Ice Racing on January 13, two performances of Disney Live! on January 27, and the 2018 Skate America next fall.
