• Xtreme Ice Racing - Bring Canned Food Donation and be Entered to Win an Upgrade to a Luxury Suite

    Xtreme International Ice Racing features lightning-quick, custom speedway motorcycles and unlimited outlaw ATVs racing on a thick, oval track of ice. Top professional riders from England, Scotland, Canada and the United States will each be competing for national Championship titles in two professional divisions.

    Watch as Ice Racing superstars go 0 to 60 in under 3 seconds on nitro burning 2-wheel rockers with steel-studded tires and no brakes allowed! The event also features an amateur quad division, showcasing local ATV riders who join XiiR for one night of pure adrenaline.

    Guests are encouraged to bring canned food donations to the event. Donation bins will be set up at the northwest entrance of the Angel Of The Winds Arena, located at Hewitt Ave. and Oakes Ave. For each donation of 2 (or more) non-perishable food items, guests will receive a raffle ticket and entry form. One lucky fan will get upgraded to a luxury suite to watch the show. Winner will be announced at the start of the races.

    Following the event, all canned food items will be donated to the Snohomish Community Food Bank. The Snohomish Community Food Bank is only able to do what they do because of the generous support received throughout the local community. The ongoing commitment allows them to provide critical services to those in need.

    Angel Of The Winds Casino Resort Signs On for 10-Year Naming Rights

    The Everett Public Facilities District and Spectra by Comcast Spectacor announced today that an agreement has been reached with Angel Of The Winds Casino Resort on a 10-year naming rights partnership through 2028. The value and terms of the naming rights deal are for $3.4 million over the life of the contract.

    “We are thrilled to announce and formally welcome everyone to Angel Of The Winds Arena,” said Rick Comeau, Angel Of The Winds Arena general manager. “Angel Of The Winds Casino Resort has been an important sponsor, and supporter, of the building for well over the last five years. After a thorough, months-long search throughout the region, we can think of no one better to expand our partnership with, and come aboard long-term for the arena naming rights.”

    Under the new deal, the arena will be officially rebranded to Angel Of The Winds Arena, effective immediately. New exterior signage will go up over the coming months, along with updates within the arena to reflect the name change.     “The Arena at Everett is one of the Northwest’s leading sports and entertainment venues, which is why the Stillaguamish Tribe is proud to be entering into a sponsorship agreement to create the Angel Of The Winds Arena,” said Travis O’Neil, General Manager of Angel Of The Winds Casino Resort. “Our resort and casino provide the local community and greater Seattle market with an opportunity to experience the excitement of an award-winning gaming and leisure experience. Through our partnership with the newly named Angel Of The Winds Arena, our customers and all the people of the Pacific Northwest will be able to experience sports and entertainment on an unprecedented scale.”

    Since the building opened in 2003, the multi-purpose arena has drawn over 5 million guests to downtown Everett, hosted hundreds of Everett Silvertips hockey games, along with more than 1,500 events, covering all genres from monster trucks and sold-out concerts, to high school graduations and Disney On Ice.

    “On behalf of the Everett Public Facilities District, we are excited to enter into an arena naming rights sponsorship with Angel Of The Winds Casino Resort and the Stillaguamish Tribe,” said EPFD board president, Gary Weikel. “We look forward to partnering together well into the future, and working to bring first-class entertainment to Snohomish County.”

  • Arena Draws Over 60,000 Guests to Everett in November

    The Everett Public Facilities District and Spectra by Comcast Spectacor welcomed 61,700 guests to the Arena throughout the month of November, with seven Everett Silvertips hockey games, four days of Disney On Ice presents Follow Your Heart, and 6,000+ in attendance at Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith’s Christmas Tour concert.

    A pair of Everett Silvertips hockey games led off the month, with a Tips win over Prince George on November 3, followed by the team’s signature fundraising game, Pink The Rink, that Saturday. This year’s event helped raise $67,921 for Providence Regional Medical Center towards their breast cancer prevention and treatment efforts. The Silvertips are riding a three game winning streak heading into this weekend’s games, which includes the Teddy Bear Toss night on Saturday, December 2 at 7:05 PM. All bears collected at the game will be donated to Christmas House and the WARM 106.9 Teddy Bear Patrol.

    Disney On Ice presents Follow Your Heart opened in Everett on November 9, with seven performances over four event days, drawing more than 30,000 guests in total attendance. Feld Entertainment, a worldwide leader in live family entertainment, produces Disney On Ice, and has continued to make Everett an annual stop on every tour since the venue first opened in 2003.

    GRAMMY® winners Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith brought their popular Christmas Tour to town on November 18, along with special guest Jordan Smith, winner of NBC’s “The Voice,” and accompanied by a full symphony orchestra. A near sold-out crowd of 6,354 kicked-off the holiday season in-style with an unforgettable night of Christmas music.

    “The support from the community for our hometown Everett Silvertips and the wide range of events presented at the Arena continues to be outstanding,” said Rick Comeau, Angel Of The Winds Arena general manager. “We look forward to carrying that momentum into the new year, with a handful of exciting show announcements on the horizon.”

    The Edward D. Hansen Conference Center also stayed busy with over fifteen events for the month, including the American Cancer Society’s banquet fundraiser with more than 400 in attendance. The Mount Rainier Chapter of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers also held their vendor show in the conference center on November 15.  Big Top Promotions wrapped up the month with their two-day tradeshow, utilizing the entire grand ballroom.

    The Community Ice Rink has been developing figure skaters, hockey players and skaters of all disciplines for almost fifteen years. Five skaters from the Everett Figure Skating qualified for the NW Pacific Regionals in Oregon. Over 120 Girl Scouts attended the exclusive Scout Skate Night on November 11, many of whom were trying out ice skating for their very first time.

    Other upcoming events at Angel Of The Winds Arena include more Everett Silvertips hockey, Harlem Globetrotters on December 28, Xtreme International Ice Racing on January 13, two performances of Disney Live! on January 27, and the 2018 Skate America next fall. 
  • Arena Selected To Host 2018 Skate America

    The event will return to Everett for the first time since it set attendance records in 2008.

    U.S. Figure Skating announced the selection of Angel Of The Winds Arena in Everett, Washington as the host for the 2018 Skate America, Oct. 19-21, 2018. The international event will be the first of six stops on the International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series.

    The competition will mark a return of Skate America to Everett for the first time since 2008 when it set an all-time Skate America attendance record that still stands today. In addition to hosting sporting, concerts and other types of performances, the arena hosts the Everett Silvertips, a franchise in the Western Hockey League. Tickets for Skate America will go on sale next year.

    “U.S. Figure Skating is excited Skate America will return to Everett after the event set a record for attendance in 2008,” U.S. Figure Skating President Sam Auxier said. “We saw a truly passionate fan base and skating community, and we believe the athletes and officials will enjoy that experience again next fall.”

    "On behalf of the city of Everett, we are excited to welcome U.S. Figure Skating and the world’s best figure skaters back to town next fall," said Everett Mayor Ray Stephanson. "We look forward to hosting guests from all over the world at our hotels, restaurants and shops when Skate America comes to Angel Of The Winds Arena.

    The event will feature three days of competition in ladies, men's, pairs and ice dance. The field will include 60 competitors, including Olympic and World-level athletes.

    “It is an honor to be selected to host the 2018 Skate America,” Snohomish County Sports Commission Sports Development Director Tammy Dunn said. “With the great partnership we have with the Arena, City of Everett and Snohomish County as well as the support from our community, we look forward to welcoming the world’s best figure skaters and passionate figure skating fans from around the world and making this a successful and memorable Skate America.”

    "Ten years after hosting the successful 2008 Skate America, we're honored to have been selected by U.S. Figure Skating as the host venue for 2018," said Rick Comeau, Angel Of The Winds Arena general manager. "We look forward to showcasing Everett on national TV and welcoming thousands of guests to downtown Everett."

    Past Skate America titlists include five-time World champion and two-time Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan and Olympic champions Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott Hamilton, Evan Lysacek and Meryl Davis and Charlie White.

    The complete list of athletes selected to compete at the 2018 Skate America and the rest of the 2018 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating events will be announced in June.

    Recent Skate America events were held in Hoffman Estates, Illinois (2014 and 2016) and Milwaukee, Wisconsin (2015). 2017 Bridgestone Skate America is set for Nov. 24-26, 2017 in Lake Placid, New York.

    The 2018 Grand Prix Series will include stops in Canada, China, France, Russia and Japan. Skaters earn points throughout the Grand Prix Series to qualify for the Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final each December. The 2018 Grand Prix Final will be held Dec. 5-9, in Vancouver, Canada.
